The flux of phases of this heavenly body resembles the women monthly cycle. It also represents the eye of the everwatching goddess, her soul that is forever watching over us in the darkness of what is actually space.
To be able to work with the symbology and the facts of this heavenly body, I study it both according to astronomy and astrology, tryng to find a balance between the both views in a plastic manner. As such there are two series, an exterior one and an interior one in an inverse position, both have eighteen steps, each one represent the phases of the moon in our night sky. The middle section is compromised of a concentric pattern that refer to the four most commonly known phases of the moon: New moon, Waxing crescent, Waxing gibbous and Full moon. The inner section refers to the full eight types of phases of the moon in a symbolic eye iris design. The whole design is made in a concentric and contained manner, trying to also include movement in a cyclic flux.
